Well this is a very good demonstration of real evil in the world, when revealing evil becomes evil. When a fellow traveller and a close friend warns a friend that a failure for all mankind is eminent:

BUSH JOINS IN CONDEMNING N.Y. TIMES
U.S. President George W. Bush has joined the chairman of the House
homeland security committee in denouncing the New York Times for
publishing a story last week about a secret financial-monitoring
program used to trace alleged terrorists.

As reporters and as well informed citizens you should make an effort to become aware of these people..the 50 most important people in the world and the 10 most unimportant-important people in the world. I actually don't agree with this list, but love the idea of this kind of list to start a discussion.

[0]TopShelf writes "Business 2.0 recently ran a feature on the Top 50
People Who Matter in the business world, but perhaps more interesting is
their list of the [1]10 People Who Don't Matter. Leading off the list is
a Slashdot favorite, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer..." Given, Rob's in
there as well, but I'd say his company in the list is pretty decent.

Wired is reporting that many individuals currently without permanent
housing [0]still manage to stay connected via a cellphone, laptop, or
some other gadget. Many homeless have email addresses and find that it
offers them a way to get their foot back in the door of 'normal' society.
From the article: "Hellerich slept on benches but she frequented a
women's shelter with a cluster of internet-connected computers used
mostly by the children who arrived at the safe house with their mothers.
She started blogging and conducting a business. As an independent
internet marketer, she was able to maintain bank accounts, nurse existing
client connections and forge new business relationships. The business
brought in only about $100 a month, but that was enough to help get her
life back on track."
